We're pleased to announce the details of our first end-of-term Social Dance since the pandemic! The event will take place at the main theatre in the new Eric Morecambe Centre in Harpenden and will run between 8pm-11pm on Friday 22nd July. Book your space now!

The event is exclusively for St Albans School of Dance clients and there will be a bar open at the venue. The cost is £20 per person payable online in advance of the event.

Bookings are now open for our Absolute Beginners class starting in January 2022. It will run on Monday evenings between 8:30pm and 9:45pm taking place at Woollams on Harpenden Road (situated between St Albans and Harpenden). Availability for this class is strictly limited, so book now!

This term, we will be running three Friday Weekender events, on 22nd October, 5th November and 26th November. They will run between 7-8:30pm at Park Hall in Harpenden (Leyton Road, AL5 2LX) and are best suited to dancers with at least 1 term of experience. Bookings must be made in advance and numbers will be strictly limited.

The main aim of the Weekenders is to provide an opportunity to dance as much as possible. We will play 30 minutes of dance music, followed by 30 minutes of tuition with a few basics / fundamentals, alongside some dancing tips from us, before ending with another 30 minutes of dancing. A short break for refreshments will also be incorporated.

The price for each Weekender is £12.50 per person. However, I am offering a promotion where you can pay for all three Weekenders for £30 per person. The event is for those with dance partners only.

Our Autumn Term 2021 Absolute Beginners class will run on Thursday evenings starting on 9th September. The class will run between 7:15pm and 8:30pm taking place at Park Hall in Harpenden. Availability for this class is strictly limited, so book now!

We are pleased to announce that our Summer Term 2021 will commence in the week beginning Monday 17th May. An Absolute Beginners class will run on Wednesdays at 7:30pm, taking place at Roundwood Park School in Harpenden.

With the latest lockdown, our lessons will be suspended until things improve nationally. Once we reopen, details of the first term of 2021 will be provided, along with credits for missing classes from 2020. For those who purchased our January 2021 Beginners course, your purchase will of course be valid for when we restart our dancing lessons. We are looking forward to reopening when it is safe.

Unfortunately, due to the Government's latest restrictions, our classes will be suspended until at least the end of the year. All the classes remaining for the Autumn Term will be provided as credits for next term's classes. Bookings for the Beginners Class, scheduled to begin on 6th January remain open, although the start and end dates of the term are presently subject to change.

Booking is now open for our Beginners class starting in January 2021 and payments can be made online now! Due to the continuing pandemic, we will continue to take the precautions outlined and restrict class sizes to aid social distancing. Dancing lessons can make a great Christmas gift. You can easily gift the Beginners class on our website and receive a gift voucher within 24 hours.

In accordance with the Government's announcement and new rules, I will be temporarily suspending classes and lessons from Thursday 5th November 2020 until 2nd December 2020. With cases still relatively low in this area, I have decided that this week's Tuesday and Wednesday classes will continue as normal. However, if you would rather not attend, I entirely understand. Please kindly let me know and I will add an additional week of credit to your file.

I hope that classes can resume following the proposed loosening of restrictions on 2nd December. I plan to make up for most of the missed weeks of this term by the end of the year. Any classes that cannot be made up will be provided to you as a credit for next term.

All being well, I look forward to being able to resume lessons next month, and in the meantime, stay safe!

The new restrictions brought into force this week do not affect our classes as they all take place within "Covid-secure" venues that follow all government guidelines. I very much appreciate everyone's cooperation in ensuring that our dance classes are a safe environment during these times.

Whilst I realise that wearing face coverings during classes may take some time to get used to, I am grateful that everyone wore masks last week. I certainly do look forward to a time when we can all once again safely dance with our faces entirely visible.

After a difficult 5-months for all of us, I am finally very pleased to be able to announce the opening of bookings for our Autumn Term, starting the week beginning 7th September, which includes an 12 week Absolute Beginners class, starting on Wednesday 9th September.

There will be a number of changes to this term's classes:

Temporarily, there will be no Monday classes due to difficulties in finding a hall.

Classes will be a couple of minutes shorter to allow for time between sessions.

Class numbers will be more restricted than in previous terms to allow for social distancing.

Additionally, we will be following a number of other precautionary measures, which are available to view here.

Dancers who normally come without a partner or someone from their support bubble, will currently only be able to attend our new Contactless class. This class will focus on improving Ballroom & Latin technique and aims to make you a better dancer for when you return to partnered dancing.

With restrictions on class numbers, if demand is high, there is a possibility that an additional Friday evening class may be scheduled, although this is not a certainty, so please book your space for the Autumn Term ASAP to avoid disappointment!

I am pleased to let you know that I have scheduled the a number of weekly classes for August. As 3 weeks remained of the previous term when lessons were suspended, those with remaining weeks can attend any 4 of these 50-minute classes free of charge.

If you do not have credits leftover (e.g. those who attended the Tuesday lunchtime class), you can attend any class (if there is remaining space) for £10 per person.

Each individual class will only allow a maximum of 10 couples. All classes will take place at The Fowden Hall at Rothamsted Research in Harpenden.

I hope you are all keeping safe in these difficult times. I am pleased to say I have some positive news regarding dance classes. As you may have heard, as of yesterday (25th July) the Government is now allowing dance classes to resume.

When I had to suspend classes in March, there were 3 weeks remaining of that term. I am pleased to say that for the month of August, I have managed to secure hall access during the day, Monday to Friday. I would therefore propose to offer 4 weeks' worth of 50-minute lunchtime classes to make up for these outstanding lessons.

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, I have today had to make the decision to suspend the current term in the interests of avoiding the creation of the close person-to-person contact which is part of Ballroom Dancing. This, alongside the more personal matter of living with my elderly mother, makes me feel that continuing with classes is, as it stands, simply not worth the risk.

Given the extraordinary circumstances, I hope this news is not too much of a shock to you all, and I would like to offer my sincere apologies to dancers who were hoping to continue with the term.

As there are 3 weeks remaining in this term for all classes, I will of course make arrangements for alternative classes to be run when it is safe to do so.

All our Summer term group lessons are now available for booking online. Classes will all commence in the week beginning 20th April, including our new 12 week Beginners Ballroom & Latin class which will run on Thursdays at Park Hall, Harpenden.

A new 9 week Beginners class starting on 31st January is now available to book. This follows the the 12 week Absolute Beginner class becoming full and being closed for new bookings. This new Friday class will cost £99 per person.

Our 12 week Absolute Beginner class is now available to book. Early booking advised to avoid disappointment! This class is intended for people with no prior Ballroom & Latin American dancing experience. By the end of the 12 week course, you will be able to lead/follow the basics of the Cha Cha Cha, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Jive.

Tickets for our Summer Social on Saturday 27th July are now available to buy online, and bookings can now be made for Autumn Term classes commencing in September 2019, which includes an Absolute Beginners class on Thursday evenings.

Tickets for the Social are £16 per person and the doors will begin at 7:30pm. The event will be held at Harpenden Public Hall. A welcome drink will be provided, but do feel free to bring your own.

Tickets for the event can also be purchased during lessons. Availability will be limited.

Our Summer 2019 term begins on Tuesday 23rd April. Owing to the Easter Bank Holiday, Monday classes will begin the following week on 29th April. We will be holding a Welcome Back Tea Dance that will take place on Sunday 28th April at Roundwood Park School.

The course costs £125 per person for 12 weeks, and will run on Mondays at Woollams between 8:45pm and 10pm, and starts on 7th January. Owing to the popularity of Strictly Come Dancing, our January term is extremely popular and class numbers are limited.

Our Autumn Term of group Ballroom & Latin American dancing classes begins on Tuesday 4th September 2018, with Monday classes starting the following week on 10th September. Our Beginner class will take place on Thursdays at Harpenden Park Hall.

Tickets for our Summer Social on Saturday 14th July are now available to buy online, and bookings can now be made for Autumn Term classes commencing in September 2018, which includes an Absolute Beginners class on Thursday evenings.

Tickets for the Social are £15 per person and the doors will open at 7:30pm for an 8pm start. The venue, Woollams, has a large car park and a big floor. A welcome drink will be provided, but do feel free to bring your own.

The 12 week Beginners class starting in April 2018 is now full, so we will also be running a new 4 week Introduction to Ballroom & Latin class on Fridays, suitable for Absolute Beginners for £49 per person. The class will start on Friday 8th June and the last lesson will be on Friday 29th June. This class can also be purchased as a gift voucher.

The other classes are available to book on the booking page, with all classes (except this new Introduction to Ballroom class) commencing in the week beginning Monday 16th April.

We will be holding a Tea Dance at Roundwood Park School on Sunday 25th March between 3-5:30pm. Tickets can be purchased online now for £11.50 per person online. Tickets will cost £12.50 per person on the door.

The 11 week Beginners class starting in January 2018 is now full, so we will also be running a new 6 week Introduction to Ballroom & Latin class on Fridays, suitable for Absolute Beginners for £75 per person. This class can also be purchased as a Christmas gift voucher. Don't forget we're running our Christmas Social on Saturday 2nd December, tickets are still available here.

The Christmas Social is a very popular event, giving an opportunity to all: beginners through to experienced dancers. The price is £13.50 per person, which includes a glass of bubbly on arrival! Please note, there will be no paper tickets; I will keep a list of attendees' names.

Finally, thanks so much to everyone who attended the Special Tea Dance on Sunday 19th. It was a great success, I had a wonderful time, and most importantly we raised £603.70 for the Chemotherapy Unit at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. Your generous donations and presents have been very much appreciated!

On Sunday, 19th November there will be a free Tea Dance at Roundwood Park School between 2:30pm and 5:00pm and tickets can now be purchased for our Christmas Social Dance which will be held at Harpenden Public Hall on Saturday, 2nd December.

Although I am doing my best to forget, I am approaching a significant birthday at the end of November and would like to invite you to this special dance.

There will be no charge to attend, although it would be appreciated it if you would kindly make a donation to a cancer charity, about which I will give more details nearer the time.

We have just announced a new class for Absolute Beginners on Thursdays, Introduction to Ballroom & Latin. It is a 7 week course starting on Thursday 2nd November and finishing on 14th December. It will be held at Harpenden Methodist Church Hall & costs £65 per person. Booking is available online now!

Booking is now available for the Autumn Term starting in September, the new Beginners class starting in October, and for our Summer Paso Doble Workshop/Tea Dance.

Both the Introduction to Paso Doble workshop and the Tea Dance will be held on Sunday 20th August at Roundwood Park School's Gymnasium. The workshop will be from 3:00pm–3:50pm and the tea dance will follow shortly afterwards commencing at 4:00pm and finishing at 5:30pm.

We will be holding our annual Summer Social Dance Evening on Friday 7th July. The event is open to all dancers of the school, including those who have only recently started.

It will be an excellent opportunity to spend a relaxing evening combining Ballroom & Latin American dancing with socialising.

The evening be held at Harpenden Public Hall, starting at 7:15pm and will conclude at around 10:45pm. The bar will be open throughout the evening.

A limited number of tickets are available at £12.50 per person.

On Friday 9th June we will be starting a new 4 week course suitable for Absolute Beginners called Introduction to Ballroom & Latin.

The course will run every Friday between 7:30pm and 8:30pm until 30th June and will take place at Harpenden Academy, Vaughan Road, AL5 4EN.

The course is priced at £45 per person, must be booked in advanced and places are strictly limited.

Our Summer Term of Group Ballroom & Latin American classes will begin in the week commencing Tuesday 18th April & we will be holding a Tea Dance on Sunday 30th April.

Our final Tea Dance of the Spring Term will be held on Sunday 26th March between 2-4:30pm at Roundwood Park School.

Our Christmas Social Dance with Chris Smith and his Five Star Swing band will take place on Saturday 3rd December at Harpenden Public Hall from 7.30pm until late.

It is a very popular event, giving an opportunity to all: beginners through to experienced dancers. The price is £20 per person until 22nd November.

Our Dance Term begins on Thursday 1st September, with Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday classes starting on the 5th, 6th, and 7th September respectively.

I am pleased to inform you that I will be running a series of Quickstep workshops and a Tea Dance over the Summer.

Each workshop will consist of approximately 45 minutes of tuition on one dance (Quickstep in this case), followed by 30 minutes of supervised practice. The workshops are designed for couples.

We are running an Afternoon Tea Dance on Sunday 15th May, between 4 and 6pm at Wheathampstead Memorial Hall, Marford Road. If you would like to reserve a place, you can pay for the event online.

The plan is to have 45 minutes of dancing, followed a half hour tea break and finishing with another 45 minutes of dancing.

Next week (beginning Monday 18th April) marks the start of our Summer Term of Group Ballroom & Latin American dance classes.

We will be running 8 classes across 7 levels ranging from Absolute Beginners, to Advanced. Bookings for all classes can still be made online here.

We will be holding a Practice Dance this Saturday (20th March) between 7-9pm at Roundwood Park School's Gymnasium.

The price is £15.00 per couple (couples only event), payable on the door.

We will be holding an End of Term Social Dance on Friday 1st April 2016 between 7:30-10:30pm at Harpenden Public Hall and we will be offering two Practice Dances, on the 6th and 20th March at Roundwood Park School.

We will be holding a Practice Dance on Saturday 2nd January 2016 between 3:30-5:30pm at Roundwood Park School's Gymnasium.

Our annual Christmas Social Dance event will be held at Harpenden Public Hall on Saturday 5th December, starting at 7:30pm and finishing around 11:30pm.

As a result of high demand for our now full Autumn Beginner class, we are launching a new special 6 week 'Introduction to Ballroom' class, suitable for absolute beginners, starting at 7:30pm on Tuesday, 20th October.

In this class, we will teach the rudiments of Ballroom & Latin American dancing.

Woollams is an excellent spacious venue for dancing, but nevertheless, we will be limiting the number of participants, so to secure a place please book now.

Next week marks the beginning of the Autumn Term for Ballroom and Latin group dancing classes.

Our New Beginners weekly class will start at 8:30pm on Thursday 10th September at Harpenden Methodist Church Hall.

We will be holding our annual Summer Dance Evening next Saturday, 27th June, with a live dance band, Groove Company. It is open to all, both dancers and non-dancers, although there are only a handful of tickets remaining.

As dancers this will be an excellent opportunity to brush up on dancing, or as non-dancers an evening to join in and enjoy the Ballroom and Latin Dancing whilst listening to the fantastic music provided by the band.

The evening be held at Harpenden Public Hall, starting at 7:30pm and will conclude at around 11:30pm. The bar will remain open until late.
